Tonight we have over 50 Bulimba & Hawthorne community groups, sporting clubs & retailers amongst us who work diligently to make our community so liveable for locals & such a vibrant destination for visitors and I thank you all for joining us.
Tonight is a wonderful occasion for everyone to celebrate the festive season together & foster friendships for the benefit of our retail businesses and our destination.
Oxford Street Bulimba Marketing, my business, has been operating for over two years to promote & engage the Bulimba & Hawthorne urban village & our retail businesses. And I would like to thank everyone for embracing my vision that has come to life.
Tonight I wish to acknowledge one special retailer who has been an owner-operator in Oxford Street Bulimba for 27 years since 1987. And we wish to gift this lovely lady with Honorary Marketing Membership plus this beautiful gift donated by Cr Shayne Sutton – Anne Wood of Anne’s Secondhand Shop at 143 Oxford Street Bulimba.

• Caroline Daunton – Go in and ask for anything and Anne will know exactly where to find it! Great place!
• Sandy Papas – Have loved her shop for over 20 years and hope it endures for years to come!
• Donna Vincent – My sons are 30 and 31 and I used to go to Anne’s Shop when they were little! And still do!
• Owen Grimes – Being ex navy, Anne’s shop is a great place to rummage around for nautical memorabilia. I bought a photo of a passenger ship the Orana – my dad and his parents migrated from England to Australia on in 1946. It’s my favourite shop!
• Lynda Evans – I bought a beautiful white vase from Anne! Thank you Anne!

Also, I wish to thank everyone for supporting our inaugural Moxford Street Bulimba community team for MOvember 2013. Some of our community team members Norm, Chris & Brendon who are here tonight have raised awareness & funds for men’s health during November – thank you Gentleman. Tonight we wish to continue with our fundraising efforts – the Brisbane Roar have kindly donated a signed ball which we will be raffling & drawing tonight & we would appreciate you buying some tickets please.
