Morningside Festival – Our Suburban Community Spirit is Strong

Congratulations to the Morningside Development Association who organise the annual Morningside Festival, a suburban community event that will commemorate 20 years in 2016. It was held yesterday on a fine Morningside Winter’s day & enjoyed by the many who visited. It was wonderful to see our community get together, as well as support our local retailers & businesses.

As a Corporate Member & committee member, Oxford Street Bulimba Marketing were proud to assist manning our South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce stand, promoting our local Chamber & members – helping businesses do business bridge (Story) to bridge (Gateway). Our SEBCC stand was positioned between one of Oxford Street Bulimba Marketing’s marketing members, Dixie Ann Middleton & Associates and Cancer Council Queensland (CCQ) who are actively arranging their Metro East Relay For Life 2015 fundraising event.

Our SEBCC stand was opposite the Queensland Police Service, so it was wonderful catching up with Senior Constable Sandi Trembath (District Crime Prevention Coordinator, Riverside Patrol, South Brisbane District) & Senior Constable Jo Murnane (Morningside Police Station) who do so much to help keep our community safe (pictured).

Congratulations to our SEBCC committee member & MC David Farrell (pictured in green) for doing an engaging job as MC on the day & good luck with his upcoming Marathon. It was also wonderful seeing our Lord Mayor Graham Quirk visit (pictured with our SEBCC President & one of Oxford Street Bulimba Marketing’s marketing members Ray Strong of Smartline Personal Mortgage Advisors who judged the Dog Competition & some committee members), knowing that our Lord Mayor is an active supporter of suburban events which bring our community together.

Congratulations once again to the Morningside Development Association.
