Congratulations to Bulimba State School who will be celebrating 150 years in 2016! One of our Facebook fans, Meryl Crompton, kindly published this historical photograph on our page. Meryl highlighted, “Bulimba State School – 1866 – 150 years old in 2016 – best school in Brisbane. The views were amazing, especially watching aeroplanes landing & in flight, as well as the ships coming up & down the Brisbane River. The swimming pool was near completion – 25 yards in length, lots of fun here. This picture was taken in approximately 1955.”
Bulimba State School are in the midst of planning their 150th celebrations for 2016. They are presently sourcing stories & photographs from anyone who was a student, teacher, staff or parent from 1970’s onwards. They intend to cover all decades in their book which they are producing with the Bulimba District Historical Society.
